The Program Management Forum
The PMF is a learning and support community for program managers and those interested in program management. More specifically, the PMF is a series of interactive educational events about program management:
• With participants from the professional, business, and educational communities
• Offering expertise, interaction, and idea exchange about powerful concepts, tools, mechanisms, and best practices.
In addition, the PMF is a social organization that promotes camaraderie among program managers and others interested in improved operational performance for technical product delivery. Our mission is to advance and promote the technical program management profession.
Historically, we have placed our focus on technical product development and delivery, individuals interested in achieving greater levels of performance in non-technical industries will also benefit from the PMF.
The Problem
Achieving Competitive Advantage: Innovative product concepts and slick marketing approaches are no longer sufficient in of themselves to achieve business success. Great ideas must sit on a foundation of sound business purpose and translated into differentiating product and operational strategies. And these strategies must be well executed across organizations, functions, disciplines, cultures, and locations. All of this, of course, is much easier said than done – and that’s why the battle for competitive advantage is so tough.
The Solution
Well-Orchestrated Operations Aligned with Business Purpose: Program Management is all about managing complexity. It provides the ability to integrate diverse perspectives, functions, and processes, create alignment with overarching purpose and strategy, and take efficient, coordinated action to turn great ideas into deliverables that underlie sustained business success.
Technical program management is the practice of leading and managing a complex set of cross-functional activities to define, develop, deliver, and launch technology products, solutions, systems, and applications to achieve desired business objectives such as TTM, TTP, revenue growth, and market penetration.
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance and promote the technical program management profession. We do so by providing a learning environment and the opportunity to advance PM related skills and practices within the business community. Through networking and camaraderie our ‘grass-root’ efforts support two monthly and ad hoc PM focused events. Our membership is expansive with the Michigan surrounding area and we are ever reaching a wider audience.
